A little on The Behr Bros. Piano Company:

The company was founded around 1880 by Henry Behr. Prior to establishing The Behr Bros. Piano Company, Henry was a partner of Leopold Peck from 1877 – 1879. Their company, Behr & Peck. Leopold Peck was later known for his contributions to the famous Hardman Peck Piano Company. Henry Behr later went into partnership with his brother Edward, forming the H. Behr & Brother Piano Company. By the mid 1880’s, they eventually changed the company’s name to Behr Brothers & Company. The Behr Bros. Piano Co. was one of the most significant manufacturers to the piano industry around the turn of the century. Later purchased by the Kohler & Campbell in about 1910, Behr Bros. pianos were produced up until about the early 1950’s.

This piano stood out amongst all the upright pianos that we have in our shop. A full spectrum of tone, and a sound that could knock your socks off. Besides the refinished cabinet, it is in original condition. That was one of the reasons that we decided to refinish this beauty. The action is in exceptionally nice condition. All the strings have clear tone, the hammers have plenty of life in them and the structure is resonating like it did from day one! Like most all Behr Bros. pianos that we get in, this one is a top quality instrument. Its simple cabinet design, rich mahogany wood, and singing tone will look fabulous in a lucky somebody’s modern home.
